The S2170 is an S series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2008. It was produced in South Korea as part of the upscale Prestige line.
Description
Preowned 2008. Very good cosmetic & fret condition. Just the common purely cosmetic stress cracks at the bolt-on neck join and some age related corrosion to the pickup rings. Prestige hard case included.
The stock photos when this model were released really don’t do the model justice – we’ve tried to capture the purpley blue/red metallic sparkle in our photos – we haven’t seen this finish before and love it!
The S2170 is an S series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2008. It is produced in South Korea as part of the upscale Prestige line. The S2170 features a mahogany body bolted to a maple and bubinga Wizard II neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and special inlay only at the twelfth fret. Components include a ZR double locking tremolo bridge with ball bearing pivot and ZPS2 tuning stabilizer, Dimarzio IBZ pickups with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single-coil, and Gotoh tuning machines. The S2170 is similar to the S2170FB and S2170FW introduced earlier, but does not have a decorative figured wood top. Instead, a chameleon ‘flip flop’ finish is applied to the body and headstock. The S2170 was discontinued after 2008 along with all of the South Korean Prestige models in favor of the Japanese made Prestiges.
